Emergency Support

Affected by a Disaster? Find the Help Available

Disasters can disrupt daily life without warning, but recovery support may be available through government and local assistance programs. If your family has been affected, knowing where to ask for help can make the next steps clearer and faster.

WHAT SUPPORT MAY BE AVAILABLE?

After a disaster, different government programs may help with immediate relief, financial needs, temporary shelter, and early recovery. The assistance available depends on your location, circumstances, eligibility, and the government response to the specific disaster.

DSWD DISASTER ASSISTANCE

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) may provide food and non-food relief items, evacuation support, and other assistance to families affected by disasters. DSWD also works with local governments to deliver relief and humanitarian support.

local government assistance

Your city, municipality, or barangay may provide immediate relief goods, evacuation assistance, and other support for affected residents. Local government units are often the first responders and coordinate disaster assistance within their communities.

emergency cash assistance

Some disaster-affected families may qualify for Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) assistance from DSWD. The program can provide cash support for urgent needs and early recovery, including food, medicine, damaged shelter, or lost sources of income. Availability depends on the disaster response and applicable conditions.

housing & recovery support

Families whose homes have been damaged may be referred to appropriate shelter, housing, repair, relocation, or recovery programs, depending on the extent of the damage and assistance available in their area.
